Hunter is the latest release from Liverpool based singer-songwriter, James Jackson. The single follows his previous singles, ‘Alone at The Party’ in March, and ‘For Once’ last year.

When talking about the track, James said it “is told from the perspective of a character debating with themselves over the end of a relationship – the “hunter” in this case being the demons and torment fighting in the mind at this time.”

With wistful, atmospheric introductory vocals, and floating instrumentals, Hunter is a perfect accompaniment to a chilled beer on a shady summer evening. With subdued folk-inspired guitar lines and plenty of colours within the music, the track shows off James’ skill as a multi-instrumentalist, arranging and producing Hunter himself.

The artist shared a playlist of his inspirations for the track, including James Blake, Isaac Gracie, and Pinegrove to name a few. Fans of Bon Iver and James Blake will definitely enjoy this track, full of harmonic nuance and storytelling vocals.
