New Single from Polar States, ‘2020’

LIVERPOOL BASED BAND, POLAR STATES, HAVE RELEASED THEIR LOCKDOWN RECORDED TRACK: 2020.

After being a massive hit on the Nothing Around Here Tour back in December, as well as on the lockdown Discord Fan Chat, Polar States have finally put out their song for the century, 2020. The track was recorded under lockdown, working from their bedrooms to create a strikingly personal yet relevant track.

Speaking about the track Paul Tong (vocals) commented: “We wanted to document how we felt about going into a new decade. It was written in about 15 minutes and came from a really introverted moment. The world was overwhelming, and it felt impossible to appreciate what really mattered. The last few months have given the song a life of its own, taking on a new relevance that nobody could’ve seen coming.”

Full of the anthemic guitar lines we have come to expect from Polar States, the track is infectiously catchy. With the line ‘drink up, we’re leaving this century’ released the day before pubs are set to open up in the UK, 2020 is guaranteed to be the most topical song of the month.
