Following the success of previous singles, ‘Socks & Sandals’ and ‘Graduate’, this dynamic pop trio are back with new music.
Full of breezy melodies and infectious guitar riffs, ‘Feel Good’ musically lives up to its name. Dutch Criminal Record, made up of Joe Delaney-Stone (vocals/guitar), Sam Thrussell (vocals/guitar) and Joe Frampton (drums) are well known for their catchy and energetic pop anthems and this single is no exception, combining a light, vibey and optimistic sonic world with a more bitter lyricism.
Delaney-Stone spoke about how ‘Feel Good’ came about: “the opening riff to ‘Feel Good’ just sort of fell onto my fingers as I was playing along. I liked it so decided to write a song about feeling good as the riff had a chipper vibe to it, however, once the lyrics formed it ended up being a sarcastic take on the keep calm and carry on, ‘slap a smile on it’ attitude towards mental health.”
This chirpy indie band have had a successful couple of years, gaining recognition on Official Spotify Playlists, radio plays and supporting artists such as Seagirls, making them for definite ones to watch.
