This year I am lucky enough to be taking part in a programme called CBSO Youth Ambassadors. CBSO stands for the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and are a Birmingham based orchestra who not only are resident at one of best concert halls in the world (the Symphony Hall, Birmingham) but also tour around the world.
The youth ambassador scheme means I get the opportunity to attend and review concerts, meet with staff and board members and help organise a concert. You’ll be able to follow what I’m up to every step of the way on this blog!
So what have I been up to?
Over the summer I created a list of ten pieces of music I wanted to feature on the concert we are organising. My suggestions ranged from Shostakovich to How To Train Your Dragon! If you want to listen to what I picked you can here:
Since then, we have had our first meeting where we chatted through our choices with each other and some musicians too. This was really useful and productive! We also learnt more about what goes on behind the scenes when planning concerts.
I hope you’ll be excited to follow our progress as youth ambassadors and I can’t wait to share the journey with you all!
